| A
MESSAGE FROM OUR PASTOR |
Greeting
in the name of Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Welcome to our Website. Today is a special day for the
community. In 1867 God unveiled His plan for this church and this
community. Habakkuk 2:2 says “Write
the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth
it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end
it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it
will surely come, it will not tarry."
You are a witness today of His glorious plan in action again. Eighteen
months ago we embarked on a project that some say was impossible, to
build a multi-purpose center with a worship facility, Gymnasium,
Kitchen, office suite, a bookstore and Christian Academy under one
roof. God has done exceedingly abundantly above more than we could have
ever expected.
His moves and His message are consistent. Restoring hope,
building faith and transforming lives have been our focus. I discovered
that perhaps one way to restore hope is for someone to step up and be
an example. Jesus said in Matthew 5:14 that Christians “are the
light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be
hid.” I believe that it is the church's responsibility to set the
standard by which our community should live. I often tell the
congregation, “So goes the church, so goes the community.”
Our theme this year is “WELCOME HOME” which speaks to the
way we feel about you, our family and friends. People like you have
faithfully supported this church over the years and to us you are just
coming home. Galatians 6:10 “As
we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially
unto them who are of the household of faith.”
St. Paul Baptist Church was organized in 1867 under the leadership of
Pastor Elijah Barnes. 141 years later God has made another move.
We invite you to come and worship with us. This facility is standing on
holy ground. There are literally bibles inserted in the cement
foundation of this building. There are written prayers from our
members inserted in the walls throughout his facility. In other
words we are built on the Word of God and prayer will keep us firmly
held together. WELCOME HOME.
HIS servant,
Kenneth Rogers
Sr. Pastor
