St. Paul Baptist Church
CHURCH FACTS
St. Paul Baptist Church was organized in 1867. It is the fastest growing African American church in North East Texas. In four years we have grown from 45 in attendance to over 500. The majority of the growth is young working families.  We have out grown our historical  church building. The 30,000 Square feet new Worship Edifice will provide several valuable services to our community. It is equipped with a Multi-purpose sanctuary with state of the art Media and sound equipment, a full size industrial grade kitchen, a high school  sized gymnasium, an education wing with eight class rooms and a suite of offices. It is strategically located in the heart of a community. The new Worship Edifice serves as a community center that provides value services for people of all ages. Area youth and senior citizens experience community support from the free services provided by St. Paul. The church nursery, Christian leader conferences, music workshops, after school tutoring, Christian concerts, wedding receptions and banquets are all hosted at our new Edifice

The following are some of our current active community services: after school tutoring, youth scholarships programs, food pantry, Young Men of Distinction, Young Women of Excellence, Meals-On-Wheels, Christmas food baskets, Shoe Fund for Foster Children, character building youth retreats, visitation to local nursing homes and historical tours. St. Paul also supports fund raising and volunteers, for several Paris and Lamar County organizations including Paris Boys and Girls Club, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, the Salvation Army, March of Dimes, United Way and the two Paris Homeless shelters.

St. Paul Baptist Church is listed by the State of Texas as a Historic Landmark and is listed in the National Registry. It is one of only two African American Baptist churches in the State of Texas with this type of recognition. It is embraced with a background of rich history and community ties and is recognized on the Paris Chamber of Commerce poster of top ten historical sites. Area schools, local citizens and tourist visit the Church regularly.
